Do your own tour of Cork city with iWalk maps and mp3 files
One of the best ways to explore a compact city like Cork is on foot. However, it’s often the case that the gude book you brought with you doesn’t give you the “inside track”.
To that end, Fáilte Ireland and Cork City Council have come together to produce two downloadable audio iWalks which will let you in on the local secrets and colourful history of Ireland’s oft claimed “Real Capitalâ€!
They have also produced a free brochure with map to accompany the audio tour – simply download the iWalks and maps below to begin your fascinating journey, taking in some of Cork’s most iconic cultural and heritage attractions.
The Flavours of Cork iWalk,
this walk is designed to give the visitor a general introduction to the identity of this diverse city, focussing on this living and contemporary culture.
Along the way the tour will take you back to delve into the history of some of Cork’s best local traditions, to sample its food and drink, shopping and craft, not to mention allowing you to sneak a peek into the favourite haunts and way of life of a native Corkonian!

Creative Cork
This walk will introduce you to the city’s architecture, public sculpture, festivals and thriving theatre and arts scene. En route, the tour will take you back in time to learn about the history behind some of the city’s iconic heritage attractions.
You will explore the creative side of this vibrant island city, its long tradition of creativity and a local affinity for the arts which has transformed Cork into one of the best cities to visit in Europe.

How to listen
To access Cork iWalks you can download the files to your computer using the links above, it’s easy and it’s totally free!
To take the iWalk with you on your tour of Cork you need:
1) An internet connection
2) A way to listen to your files: eg MP3 device, iPod, iPhone etc.
Right click on the above audio links to download them to your computer.
Then simply transfer the audio file to your MP3 device/iPod/iPhone etc as normal.
