The 32nd Beamish Cork Folk Festival will take place between Thursday 29th September and Monday 3rd October 2011 at venues all over Cork City.
The city will be buzzing with the sound of traditional music from all around the world!
There will be free and paid concerts every day and evening.
For any event to be celebrating it’s 30th anniversary is cause for celebration. For The Cork Folk Festival, it’s much more than that. Put together from year to year purely on a voluntary basis by a dedicated group of enthusiasts, sometimes with the help of major sponsorship, often by a combination of various sponsors and supporters, it’s endurance is a tribute to the energy and labour of it’s workers.
The Cork Folk Festival’s annual objective is straightforward – to present the best of local, national, and international folk and traditional music, song and dance on Leeside in late Autumn each year.
At 2pm on the 02nd October on the Grand Parade in Cork’s city centre, put on your dancin’ shoes for the Céilí Mór with festival favourites The Kilfenora Céilí Band. And don’t worry if you’re CV hasn’t got Riverdance on it, there’ll be free lessons on the day!
